Children’s Programs

SPORTIES for SHORTIES – new!
Fridays in October:  5, 12, 19, 26
1:15 – 2:15 PM  (Min 6, Max 12)         
4 – 7 years                    
$10 per child                        
Get your gym shoes laced up and have a water bottle ready.  Our new class will introduce you to the fundamentals of golf, tennis, bowling and first aid.  This sporty hour will meet off site at Etter’s Putt-Putt on Oct. 12 (rain date is Oct. 19) and Crossgate Bowl on October 26.  Parents or care giver must drive children to and from Etter’s Putt-Putt and Crossgate.

Come on down and meet us at Gorman Heritage Farm for our field trip.  Find out what it is like on a farm.  See if you can find who or what says E-I-E-I-O!!!

Trick or Treating
Tuesday, October 30             FREE!
Meet at the Recreation Center at 1:15 PM, in costume, to Trick or Treat at the Fire Department, Police Department, Administrative Offices and, of course, the Recreation Department!


CRAFTY COOKS – new!
Thursday, November 8

Grades 2nd to 6th
$5.00 per person                           
Halloween can’t be over it seems,
Come join us for pasta monsters, garlic snakes and mice creams!
Kids will help prepare this delightful meal,
And full we will hope their bellies will feel.


Thanksgiving Day Feast
Thursday, November 15

Ages 3 & Up, Accompanied by an Adult
$5.00 per person by November 12
The group will prepare a simple feast and then eat together as a group.  Supervised open gym will follow.

Ever need a birthday card in a hurry, forget to wish someone an anniversary, or just want to send someone a message telling them that they are special? If so, this program will be just for you. We will make cards and tags for all those events throughout the year.  No need to rush to the store; they will already be within reach.  From holidays to graduation, you will be ready.  Come spend an evening with us and let your creative juices flow.  Please bring scissors, adhesive, markers, and a ruler.  Light refreshments served.


YOU CAN’T CATCH ME, I’M THE GINGERBREAD MAN – new!
Tuesday, December 4

3, 4, 5 and Kindergarteners             
$5.00 per person
He may be fast, but we did catch him to join us at the Recreation Center for an afternoon of fun!  We will read about his wild adventure, sample a gingerbread treat, and create a non-food Gingerbread Man gift to take home.  So run, run as fast as you can to the Rec Center and sign up for some fun!
