In the past, during the summer months, we, along with other communities, have experienced incidents wherein persons will take advantage of homeowners working or lounging in their backyards by entering unlocked front doors and commiting theft offenses.
I want to take this opportunity to remind everyone that while this crime is uncommon, it exists, and the simple precaution of keeping the front door locked can prevent it.
