Crime Alerts…
A resident in Park hills was a victim of a burglary. While even one offense such as this is too many, it has been the only recent occurrence.
In light of that incident and as a reminder, there are actions that can be taken to lessen the opportunity to be a victim of such a crime.
These actions can include; notifying the police department of your absence, notifying neighbors of your absence to be vigilant as well as having mail and/or papers removed, keeping lights on timers, illuminating the exterior with lights and timers, and recording serial numbers and photographing valuables and electronics.
In addition to notifying us for your vacation home check, we encourage anyone to notify us whenever something or someone out of the ordinary or suspicious is seen.
Also,
We have received a complaint from a resident in reference to a suspicious long distance call. The resident, fortunately, hung up on the caller.
Other jurisdictions have experienced (possibly) these types of calls wherein the caller attempts to get money from an elderly person by having them wire money for a sick/injured/jailed grandchild or relative. Call the police department if you have any doubts as to the nature of these calls. Please don’t become a victim of this scam.
