Griffin Family Nature Preserve
Meeting Minutes for August 23, 2007
Present at the Meeting:
Jim Owens, Pat Casey, Catherine Hartman, Bob Griffin, and Jim Bothe
Topics Discussed:
· Reviewed meeting minutes from July 17, 2007.
· Service department completed all planned tasks except sign, signboard, and wildflower field review. Signs are on order.
· 4 grass eating carp added to pond.
· Bob and Catherine have started documenting property history.
· Boy Scout Brian to follow up with Jim Owens on bird blind project.
· Pat and Jim to inspect old fire ring location. Committee would like Fire Dept input.
· Bob suggested some more organized programs at the preserve.
· Bob commented on potential plans for his house.
· Fall Volunteer Day date October 13th or 20th. Catherine to work on publicity. Project list started. Owens to arrange drinks and snacks. Continue planning at next meeting.
Action Items:
· Service department to install Lexan covers to signboard.
· Service department to add ‘Pack Out What You Pack In’ ‘Please, No Littering’ sign at parking lot.
· Service department to review wildflower meadow with outside resource.
· Follow up on Boy Scout projects.
· Catherine and Bob document history for signboard posting.
· Plan Fall Volunteer Day October 13th 9:00am till noon.
