Metal Thefts
While I am confident most of us are aware of the problem of persons stealing "scrap" metal, I doubt that many people realize how much this problem has been growing and the effect it has on all of us. The proliferation of these thefts means that we may all be touched in some way, either through a higher cost of a service or directly through a replacement cost of metal stolen. In addition to the not so unusual "scrap" being stolen, we are experiencing and hearing theft reports of catalytic converters (from personal vehicles), air conditioning units (from businesses), electrical boxes and wiring, and construction materials. Please be alert for people or vehicles in your nieghborhood or business that are unusual or suspicious and don't hesitate to call the police.
