CALLING ALL SENIORS (55 & OLDER)-call your friends and join the staff for our Senior Scrambles. Staff will help facilitate. Start your Thursday mornings right with exercise, socialization and fun!
NEW Evendale Rec Center Tournaments
Basic Tournament Format
1. Tournaments will be held on weekends. Matches will typically start at 10:00 am on Saturdays. (Depending on the # of participants matches may start earlier or later). Possibly even Friday evenings.
2. Usually you will play 2 or 3 matches on Saturday (some matches might be an 8 or 10 game proset depending on the # of participants. In some cases a round robin format may be used where you play a “mini-set” against everyone.
3. Ideally tournaments will have reached the semifinals or finals by Saturday afternoon. Those matches will either be played on Sundays or at an agreed upon time by the participants.
4. Tournaments will have a back draw so that everyone gets to play at least 2 matches. Some tournaments will have a “last-chance” draw as well (depending on the # of participants)
5. Seeding will be done to the best of our ability. Hopefully people will have used the ladder which would help us to seed the tournaments.
6. Trophies will be awarded.
How and when to sign up—
1. You can sign up either by writing your name down on the sign up sheet under the awning at the courts or by e-mailing me at fieldofpete@aol.com
2. Sign ups are requested by the Wednesday prior to the tournament.
3. Cost of tournaments will be $10 per participant or $10/team for doubles.
Tournament schedule
July 5th – Parent/child doubles (age divisions will be arranged if enough teams sign up)
July 19th – Men’s doubles
July 26th – Women’s doubles
August 2nd—Junior championships (age and gender divisions will be arranged if enough kids are available)
Aug 9th –
Aug 16th -- 100 doubles (combined age of team must be 100 or over) (Separate gender divisions will be arranged if enough people sign up)
Aug 23rd – Mixed doubles
Aug 30th – Men’s member/guest doubles
Sept. 6th – Women’s singles Club Championships
Sept. 13th—Men’s singles Club Championships
Sept. 20th – Senior singles Club Championships (45 and over) (Separate gender divisions will be arranged if enough people sign up)
