Chief Niel Korte has been with the Evendale Police Department since 1992. He was appointed to the rank of Sergeant in 1995 and appointed as Chief in 2009. Prior to his appointment with Evendale, Chief Korte was a police
officer for the City of Indianapolis. He held that position for over four years.
Chief Korte graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1985 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. He is a year 2000 graduate of the Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command where he was class co-valedictorian. He is also a graduate of PELC, the Police Executive Leadership College. He is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University.
Chief Korte has been married to his wife, Terri, since 1991. They have three children; Justin, Zach, and Margaret Mary.
