Depending on your location and placement on your property the regulations vary.

Generally, in Residential areas, fences are permitted with the following restrictions:

• Rear and/or side yard only.
• 70% transparent (Chain-link is prohibited).
• A coated wire mesh is permitted on the owner's side of the fence.
• Max. four (4) feet tall at the property line. Max. six (6) feet tall with a 10 foot setback.
• Permit is required.

Fences in commercial and industrial areas are permitted dependent upon the purpose of the fence. It is best to contact the Building Department prior to erecting a fence.
