Fun in the Sun Summer Program
June 4 – July 18 (Program does not meet the week of July 2-6)
An activity calendar will be available at the beginning of the program.
 
Prior to the first day of camp, parents/guardians need to complete the following paperwork upon registration: 
· 2018 Participant Agreement Form (required)
· Parent/Guardian Drop-Off and Pick-Up Authorization Form (required)
· Deadline for Special Accommodation requests was due May 1st as it can affect staffing.
· Allergies & Medical Conditions form, if needed
· Permission to Dispense Medicine form, if needed.
· FunShines Only:  Fieldtrip waivers for Run Jump-n-Play & Pump It Up.
 
SunBeams, Ages 3 – 6
*Children who are entering 1st Grade may sign-up for either program; parent’s choice.  Child may not be enrolled in both SunBeams and FunShines.
Must be potty trained and three years of age by 6/4/18; Staff cannot change diapers. Children cannot enroll in the program if they turn three during the six week session.
M-TH, 9:30 - 11:00 AM
After May 18:  $45 per Child,
$60 per Eligible Family Resident

SunBeams is a highly structured morning program. 
Children are split into three age groups and rotate
between three daily stations, including, but not limited to, gym games, crafts, playground, song and dance, etc.  Leaders are assigned to each area and each age group.  An activity calendar will be available at the beginning of the program.
 
FunShines, Entering 1st Graders – Entering 8th
*Children who are entering 1st Grade may sign-up for either program; parent’s choice.  Child may not be
enrolled in both SunBeams and FunShines.

Bring a lunch & wear sunscreen to camp every day.
After May 18:  $55 per Child,
$70 per Eligible Family Resident
(Max of 20 Eligible Family Residents – first come, first serve)
FunShines begin their day with a group meeting followed by a pre-lunch activity.  Lunch is eaten between 12:00-12:30; vending machine and concession purchases strongly discouraged.  Money can be sent for snacks during swimming only.  After lunch, FunShines will choose between designated activities including, but not limited to group games, sports, arts & crafts, swimming, reading, Lego’s, outdoor play and more!  Bathing suits, towels and sunscreen should be sent on Mondays and Wednesdays for optional pool days; Leaders cannot apply sunscreen. Leaders are assigned to each area throughout the day. 
 
ENRICHING KIDZ BETTER BABYSITTERS
June 18 and 20, 12:00pm – 4:30pm (Min 6, Max 25) (GRADES 5-8)
$85 per person
Enriching Kidz will again conduct our babysitting course.  Participants will learn sitter professionalism, important safety information, choking and CPR, how to handle emergencies, first aid, creative problem solving, infant and toddler care and how to create a marketing plan.  Participants are asked to bring a snack.
 
MISS MARLENA’S WONDERFUL WORLD OF ART
(Min 5, Max 15 ea.) (GRADES 1-8)
Grades 1-4

June 7, 14, 21, 28, and July 12
$50 per person
Students will create a variety of artworks; drawing, painting and sculpture while diving into color and getting their hands dirty. This is a hands-on, active class, with lots of activity. Students are encouraged to exhibit their artwork at the Cultural Arts Center’s Big Art Party on Friday, August 10. Register at the Recreation Center Front Desk.

Ensemble theater company’s summer actor workshops  - CANCELLED

Teaching artists will focus on the
different tools of acting (on stage exercises, voice, movement,
character development, theatrical sciences). Youth will be split into two age groups and rotate through

tweens and teens flow yoga

$30 per person
Yoga can provide tools to help teens deal with daily stress through
learning to use their breath to relax while building self-esteem, strength and flexibility.  Must bring your own yoga mat. Register at the Recreation Center Front Desk.
 
Evendale All Pro Football Camp – by Jump Start Sports

Evendale All Pro Football Camp: ​Campers learn pass patterns, pass defense and other aspects of football in this fun program ​that emphasizes sportsmanship and teamwork. Teams play games all week and
compete in a fun “Super Bowl” on the last day of camp on July 16 at 2:00 pm (parents welcome to
attend). 
 
“L-E-T-S GO” Cheerleading Camp – by Jump Start Sports

Cheerleaders will learn a variety of cheers, jumps, kicks and movements. We’ll also play fun cheerleading games and learn a cheer
dances. Cheerleaders will decorate tees to wear and pom-poms to use at an exhibition on the last day of camp on July 16 at 2:00 pm (parents are
welcome to attend the exhibition).  
 
Evendale Olympics Camp – by Jump Start Sports

Fee: $50
Children are grouped by age and divided into countries to learn about and compete in all types of Olympic sports! The Olympic spirit and true sportsmanship are emphasized throughout the week. Campers also learn about the culture and history of their adopted country and make a flag to carry during the "Closing Ceremonies" and "Presentation of Medals" (parents are welcome to attend).    
 
College Days Sports Camp – by Jump Start Sports

Fee: $50
Sports offered this week include basketball, soccer, lacrosse, flag football, street hockey and more! We will feature a different sport each day and will play fun, low-key games for school pride! The children will also learn fun facts about their chosen college, and will make school T-shirts and pennants to wear and display at “Graduation” (parents welcome to attend).
 
The Skills Academy – with Sherwin Anderson - CANCELLED
June 1 & 2 – Friday and Saturday
$75–residents by May 24. 
Non-residents may register starting May 7 if space allows for $85.
Limit of 20 kids per time.
2nd – 5th grade 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.
6th—8th grade 11:00 – Noon
Two day skill development camp teaching kids the fundamentals of the game.
 
Ultimate Warrior Camp 2018 – by Jump Start Sports

Fitness, fun and “Survivor” type team challenges! Age-appropriate and safe activities specifically designed to challenge, inspire, and excite. Games and tasks include obstacle courses, relays, tug-of-war, and many other fun activities designed to teach cooperation and teamwork while developing self-esteem. 
 
ARCHERY CAMP - by Gold Medal Archery
Mondays June 4 to July 16
(no class 7/2)

7-9 year olds   1:45 - 2:30 p.m.

USA Archery certified instructors will teach how to properly handle archery equipment, proper shooting stances, safety procedures of an archery range, and how to properly shoot and aim the bow while HAVING FUN. All equipment will be provided.
 
BASKETBALL CAMP WITH TRAINER SHERWIN ANDERSON
Tuesdays - June 5 – July 17

KIDS RUN THE REC RUNNING CLUB

(no camp on 7/5)

Times may be combined depending on numbers.
Fee: Free but registration is
required. Lifestyle Essentials, LLC staff will teach the basics of running, while having fun! Start with running/walking & be running two miles by the last class!
 
GOLF CAMP–Drive, Chip & Putt-Putt

8 years old – 8th grade

(if 1st camp fills – 2:30-3:30 will be offered)  Players of all skills are
welcome! The camp is an introduction to the game of golf, basic swing techniques and proper fundamentals. Camp is comprised of three main
areas of focus: full swing, short game & putting. Golf clubs and range balls will be available for use. (Fun in the Sun staff will transport kids to Etters Custom Golf Center, bring water bottles) Trainers: PGA Apprentices David Mullins & David Hartke ​
