On July 25, 2023, The Village of Evendale sold 6.4+ acres, in their AeroHub commercial campus, to The General Tool Company (GTC) for construction of a 56,000 sq. ft. advanced manufacturing facility.  “We are delighted to have GTC grow and expand in our Village” said Mayor Richard Finan. “GTC has a solid, long-standing reputation with over 75 years’ experience in high performance machining, fabrication and assembly for major defense and aerospace clients, amongst others” Finan continued.

GTC and Evendale leadership first talked in November 2022. “It’s impressive how quickly we evolved from concept discussions to final plan approvals and a sales agreement in less than 9 months” said David Elmer, Evendale Director of Administrative Services. “Congratulations to everyone who facilitated this win-win economic development project in such a short period of time” Elmer continued.  GTC President, Bill Kramer III said “I’m excited to start our next phase of growth in Evendale. GTC takes great pride in manufacturing products that protect our Country. While our headquarters will remain in the City of Reading, we had an immediate need for additional space to fulfill our Company purpose. Evendale had the perfect pad-ready site in AeroHub”. To further incentivize the project, Evendale approved a 10-year 75% property tax abatement based on the 47 new jobs and $8.57 +/- million capital investment associated with the new development.  “We will break ground at the end of July with plans to be operational by June 2024” said Kramer.  Evendale Community Improvement Corporation President Hugh McKinnon said “Evendale now has three great companies in AeroHub” {The Modal Shop completed their 40,000 sq. ft. headquarters in 2020 and Kinetic Vision completed their 51,000 sq. ft. headquarters in 2022} McKinnon continued; “In addition to Village and GTC officials, I’d like to recognize our economic development partners including REDI Cincinnati, JobsOhio, Hamilton County, Alloy Inc., Colliers International and Neyer Development for helping GTC grow in Evendale and for their continued support and advocacy of AeroHub.”
