Duke Energy – Higher Winter Bills

With colder weather right around the corner, this can bring higher energy bills. This is especially true this year for consumers who use natural gas to heat their homes, because gas prices are rising. Natural gas prices have more than doubled since January 2021 and are forecasted to remain elevated through the winter heating season (November 2021 to March 2022), but are expected to moderate during the spring of 2022.

To help prepare Duke Energy customers for higher energy prices this year, they have created a comprehensive Winter Bill Fact Sheet. It explains why energy bills are increasing, includes helpful energy-saving tips and lists a wide variety of programs that are available to assist customers that are in need.

As indicated in the Winter Bill Fact Sheet, customers are encouraged to visit our Winter Bills landing page at www.duke-energy.com/winterbills for updated information on how to manage their winter bills.
