D.A.R.E. Program

D.A.R.E. is a cooperative program between the school system and the police department. The instruction is done by a uniformed police officer who is certified to teach the program, and the material is developed by educators. D.A.R.E. explains the dangers of drugs and drug abuse and provides information on how to resist negative peer pressure. The program teaches one how to build self-esteem, how to be assertive, and how to resolve conflict without using violence. The Evendale Police Department currently has 2 certified D.A.R.E. Officers. The program is taught at Evendale Elementary School and St. Rita’s School for the Deaf.
