Beginning Watercolor Class with DJ Berard

A class designed for those who want to learn the basics of watercolor painting. Bleeding, glazing, and the fundamentals of composition and color theory are covered in these 4 short weeks. If you are interested in painting loose and free or want a more controlled and precise painting, this class will give you the fundamentals to make it happen.

A competitive artist for over 20 years, DJ is nationally known for her large format impressionist paintings. She has earned the Grumbacher Silver Medallion Award, numerous top awards in Arizona, South Carolina, Missouri and now in Ohio, and is represented by galleries in those states. She is included in Who’s Who in American Modern Art, Tucson Home and Garden, Phoenix Home and Garden, American Artist Magazine, included in St Louis Arts Magazine (and even made the cover once) and has been called the ‘Up and coming female artist of our time.’ by the past director of the Smithsonian’s Modern Collection. DJ Berard earned an MFA in Studio Arts and Painting from Lindenwood University, Graduate work at University of South Carolina in Arts Education, and a BS in Art Ed at Indiana University, and painting and ceramics work at the University of Arizona Arts Center. She has taught painting and ceramics at Lindenwood University and Chatfield College. DJ now paints out of her home studio.
