All tools, equipment, storage, firings, and glazes are included in the class fee, so you can focus on the joy of creating.
With affordable rates and a welcoming community atmosphere, our pottery classes are the perfect way to explore your artistic side. Class sessions run in 6-week periods, so there's plenty of time to learn, create, fire and glaze your clay work. Reserve your spot today and let the clay transform your world! For experienced potters, we offer monthly shelf rental. Open Pottery Studio is available to all; hours vary.

Art in Motion: Kid's Pottery Wheel (Ages 7-12)

A fun and engaging 6-week pottery wheel-throwing class designed specifically for kids! This hands-on experience will introduce your child to the magical world of pottery, where they will learn the fundamentals of throwing.
Handbuilding Clay Creations (18+)

Half Bag Clay - $114 for 6 weeks | Full Bag Clay - $120
This 6-week course focuses on the fundamentals of handbuilding with clay. Students will explore a variety of hand-building techniques, using mainly slab construction, to create both functional and decorative pieces. They will learn how to wedge and prepare clay, as well as essential skills like scoring, slipping, and joining clay forms. The course will also cover surface decoration methods such as texturing, incising, and stamping, as well as an introduction to glazing and finishing techniques. Through hands-on projects and demonstrations, students will develop confidence in their ability to manipulate clay and bring their creative ideas to life. No prior experience is necessary, making this class ideal for anyone looking to explore the versatility of handbuilt ceramics. Half bag Includes 15 pounds of white stoneware clay. Full bag includes 25 lbs. of white stoneware clay. Additional clay may be purchased through the MyRec Store as needed.
Kids Clay Adventure with Kit! (AGES 5-14)

Get ready to play with clay in our kids’ pottery workshop! Drop off your child for a few fun hours to enjoy a fun, hands-on clay adventure—perfect timing for parents to sneak away for a little date night. Young artists will explore shaping, molding, and decorating while creating their very own clay masterpiece to keep! Pieces will be ready for pickup 2-4 weeks after each workshop. Kit Kresky holds degrees in Early Childhood Education and pre-K-3rd Grade Special & General Education, and helped lead the ECAC Summer Clay Camps.
Saturday Night Ceramics – Earth Day Seed Bowls + Plant Markers (21+)

Participants will make small seed bowls, scoop forms, or ceramic garden markers celebrating growth and stewardship. This workshop emphasizes earthy textures, intentional simplicity, and functional pieces meant to be used outdoors or in planting rituals.
Saturday Night Ceramics – Father's Day Utility Cups and Desk Vessels (21+)

Design a sturdy cup, pencil holder, or catch-all vessel with comfort and function in mind. This class focuses on form, thickness, and subtle surface detail—perfect for practical, everyday use and ready in time for Father's Day in June.

Shelf Rental includes 2 cubic feet of shelf space, glazes and bisque & glaze firings. Shelf Rental and Clay can be purchased through the MyRec Store under “Cultural Arts”. We welcome hobby and maker potters, but are unable to accommodate production work.
