Rumor Control
Rumor # 6 - On February 19, 2025 WLWT aired a story in which they stated that one of our officers told one of the participants in the Nazi protest to put his mask on before transporting him to the location of his service dog.
This was factually inaccurate, as seen on the officer's body-worn camera. We have contacted WLWT and asked for the story to be corrected immediately.
Rumor # 5 - Evendale police officer told the Neo-Nazi group member to put his mask on and take the black shirt off. Another member of the Neo-Nazi group asked the member to put his mask on and he responded, I don’t give a xxxx about my face right now. Then the Evendale officer told him to take his black shirt off and get in my car.
Rumor # 4 - On February 19th, WLWT reported that Evendale police released an hour of body cam footage.
Evendale police released all 16 hours of body cam footage.
Rumor # 3 - There is a significant amount of misinformation circulating on social media regarding the actions of Evendale officers on February 7th.
We are uploading the body camera footage of every officer who responded on February 7th so that you can see the actions of our officers with your own eyes. Relevant to recent misinformation, we encourage you to review Body Cam 1 from Vimeo minute 13:15 to Vimeo minute 26:30. That video can be found here.
Rumor # 2 - The Evendale Police Officer opened the back of the U-Haul with all of the Neo-Nazis in the back.
The individual opening the back of the U-Haul with a yellow vest and wide rim hat was the driver of U-Haul and a member of the Neo-Nazi group, not a police officer.
Rumor # 1 – Evendale police knew of the Neo-Nazi’s plans ahead of time and/or arranged for the Neo-Nazis to locate on the bridge over I-75.
The Evendale Police and the Hamilton County Sheriffs first heard of the Neo-Nazis on the Bridge overpass connecting Evendale and Lincoln Heights when the Neo-Nazis were already on the overpass with signs and guns. Evendale’s original source of information of the Neo-Nazi presence in the Village was from the County Dispatcher, and from telephone calls to the Evendale Police Station providing similar information.
