New Gas Aggregation Contract with AEP Energy
New Gas Aggregation Contract with AEP Energy
I am pleased to announce that the Village of Evendale has entered into a 12-month contract with AEP Energy at a fixed rate of $0.6499 per ccf for participants in Evendale’s Gas Aggregation Opt-Out Program. This rate takes effect October 2025 and expires October 2026. “Opt-Out” means all Evendale homes are automatically enrolled in the Program except for households that choose not to participate. Residents may voluntary exit or re-enter the Program at any time with no enrollment or termination fees. As of March 2024, 702 of 1,035 Evendale households participated in Evendale’s Program.
The Contract with AEP Energy was facilitated by Evendale’s aggregation consultant, Energy Alliances, who represents 26 other local governments in the region.
According to Energy Alliances, Dukes rate is expected to climb to $0.7-.8 +/- per ccf in the upcoming months. Residents who do not participate in Evendale’s program receive gas supply from Duke Energy or from another gas supplier of their choice. Duke Energy will remain the local gas distributor. Monthly gas bills will continue to be issued by Duke Energy. The Duke bill will include AEP’s gas supply charges and utilization data.
Residents are welcome to call Village Administration with any questions or concerns at 513-563-2244.
